Greater Grand Crossing Community Area is 7 miles directly South of Downtown and borders Washington Park Community Area and Woodlawn Community Area on the North; South Shore Community Area and Avalon Park Community Area on the East; Chatham Community Area on the South; and Englewood Community Area and Auburn Gresham Community Area on the West. The West limit, stair-stepping to the SW, begins at 61st St (6100S) and LaSalle ST (150W), South to 63rd St (6300S), West to Wentworth Ave (200W), South to Marquette Rd (6700S), West to Yale Ave (245W), South to 69th St (6900S), West to Harvard Ave (319W), South to 70th St (7000S), West to Stewart Ave (400W), South to 74th St (7400S), West to Eggleston Ave (430W), South to 75th St (7500S), West to Wallace St at 600W, and South to 79th St (7900S). The South boundary is 79th St from 600W to Woodlawn Ave (1200E). The East edge, from here, moves North to 76th St (7600), East to South Chicago Ave at 1300E, then NW to 75th St and the Metra Electric Line, North-East to 73rd st (7300S), West to Kimbark Ave (1300E), North to 71st St (7100S), East to 1330E, North back to the Metra Electric Line, which the remainder of the limit follows up to 67th St (6700S) near 1350E. The North border, from 61st St and LaSalle St, moves East to State St (0E/0W), South to 63rd St, East to Dr Martin Luther King Jr Dr (400E), South to South Chicago Ave at 6700S, SE to Cottage Grove Rd (800E) at 7100S, North to 67th St, and East to the Metra Line.
