Jefferson Park Community Area is a far northwest area of Chicago. The West edge begins at Devon Ave (6400N) and Melvina Ave (6200W), South to Indian Rd, SE to Austin Ave (600W), then South to Bryn Mawr Ave (5600N), West to Nagle Ave (6434W), and South to Gunnison St (4834N); and is shared with Norwood Park Community Area. Forest Glen Community Area on the North and East, is separated by the North Branch of the Chicago River beginning at Devon Ave moving South East along the river around to where the Metra Line crosses the river, approximately, Laramie Ave (5200W). Following the Metra Milwaukee District North Line to Elston Ave, the border jumps to LeClaire Ave (5100W) and continues South to Winnemac Ave (5036N). From there, a short jump to the East to Lavergne Ave (5000W) and South to Lawrence Ave (4800N), near the Blue Line. Portage Park Community Area shares the Jefferson Park Community Area southern border at Gunnison St and Nagle Ave East to Central Ave (6400W), South to Lawrence Ave and East to Lavergne Ave.
