Lower West Side Community Area is just South of Near West Side Community Area and shares the common border of 16th St (1600S). Lower West Side Community Area's western border, on the 2500W coordinate, is common with North Lawndale Community Area. The South-East border begins at 2500W & 3250S, and heads East on Stevenson Expressway to the South Branch of Chicago River, around 1534W & 2990N. The remainder of the border follows the South Branch of the Chicago River to 1600S. Neighbors along this boundary are McKinley Park Community Area, Bridgeport Community Area, Armour Square Community Area, and Near South Side Community Area.
