North Lawndale Community Area starts its North boundary at 4600W and 5th Ave (approximately 950S) and moves NE along 5th Ave to Kildare Ave (4300W), South to Taylor St (1000S), and East to Independence Blvd (3800W), North to Arthington St (900S), East to Kedzie Ave (3200W), then South to Taylor St (1000S), and East to the 2600W coordinate. This boundary is shared with West Garfield Park Community Area and East Garfield Park Community Area. Kenton Ave (4600W) from 5th Ave South to the Metra BNSF Railway Line at, approximately, 2500S. The southern limit, and neighboring South Lawndale Community Area, follows the Metra Line East to Springfield Ave (3900W), North to Cermak Rd (2200S), East to Trumbull Ave (3434W), North to 21st st (2100S), East to Albany Ave (3100W), North to 19th St (1900S), East to the Metra Line, and following the Metra Line East to the 2500W coordinate. The East edge roughly follows the 2600W coordinate on the northern half, and the 2500W coordinate on the southern half.
