Congratulations! You are a new homeowner.... almost. The purchase of your home is not final until it's final and many details are redressed at closing rather commonly. Arrive at the closing with any 'punch list' or other final work orders, appropriate checks and/or cash disbursements, and any other paperwork that has bearing on the transaction; you will save yourself a headache. Prepare to sign extensive legal documents; and there will be several. Be sure that your attorney will attend the closing, as well. This is to ensure that any legal concerns that arise will be resolved (common occurrences are new title issues, recently noticed property damage or defects, buyer's financing, etc.) and to address any potential problems that should be corrected before the closing is final.
