Preparing the Exterior of Your Home

Landscaping

Your home’s landscaping can be as important as any aspect of the building, itself. If your yard is in such disarray as to be overwhelming, consider consulting with or hiring a qualified, professional landscaper. If your land needs more maintenance than overhaul, there are a few specific things you can do to address any unseemly aspects.
  • Have your lawn cut to a moderate length, approximately three inches high.
  • Trim all bushes, hedges, and trees and pay special attention to any planting beds you’ve established by removing excess vegetation and weeds.
  • Repair, replace, or just remove any borders that aren’t in sale condition.

All too often, the backyard gets completely neglected. Ensure that all lawn equipment, i.e. lawn mowers, weed wackers, garden hoses, etc., are properly stored out of sight, as well as any children’s bikes and toys. Lawn furniture should be cleaned and well-maintained or stored out of sight, as well. Window or patio screens that have damage or are missing should be repaired or replaced as necessary.
