"Founded in 1997, Buena Park Neighbors is a 46th Ward neighborhood association of more than 200 residents, businesses, and not-for-profit organizations in the nationally registered Buena Park Historic District. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for everyone in Buena Park."

"The park district had decided to establish a recreational facility on West Sheridan Road in the densely-populated Lake View neighborhood. By 1972, the site had been acquired with the help of funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and plans had been developed for a multi-story fieldhouse with a swimming pool, a gymnasium, and an assembly hall. Neighbors refer to the impressive structure as the 'highrise fieldhouse.' The park district installed a new soft surface playground at Gill Park in 1991."

"In 1959, the city transferred Buena Circle Park to the Chicago Park District along with approximately 250 other properties. Playground equipment was added in the early 1960s, and a few years later, the park district briefly considered constructing a swimming pool in the park. In 1991, the park received major improvements including a new accessible playlot, lighting, and plantings as part of an initiative to transform nearby vacant land into the new Challenger Park."

"If you live in this ambiguous zone where East Lakeview and and Uptown converge, you'll appreciate this gem of a Bar on Buena Avenue, just west of Broadway. I used to live just minutes away from this place and didn't take advantage often enough of the relaxed-yet-classy atmosphere, excellent bar food and selection of beers on tap. It's especially enjoyable in the summer-evenings, when the big windows are open. Cool Chicago summer breezes (or stagnant humid air) and nice cold beer--good match." Review by: Philip K.

"Tom Kha soup, potstickers, pad thai.... Wow. Wow. More wow. I have never been to Thai Aroma, only eaten delivery. I can honestly say that the pad thai from Thai Aroma is the best in the northland. If there is a rival, I have not found it. The spice is wonderful and you can request more or less, any way you like it. When they tell you it is going to be 30 minutes, they show up in 30 minutes. "This is probably my favorite place in uptown.. lucky for me I live about 2 blocks away! The food here is fantastic, everything from appetizers to the stuffed and deep dish pizza is amazing. The only thing you should know from a pizza standpoint is that their sauce is a bit on the sweet side so if that kind of thing bothers you, you may want to stick with something else on the menu. The bar is pretty spacious for not looking very large on the outside and the pool table is in decent shape. As Kristin mentioned, the prices are very reasonable!" Review by: Brandon H.
