The Chinatown Neighborhood is on Chicago's Near South-Side and is bordered on the North by Cermak Rd (2200S), the East by Wentworth Ave (200W), the South by the Stevenson Expressway at ~2500S, and on the West by the Orange Line "El." By 1970 Chicago ranked as the fourth largest concentration of Chinese immigrants and in 1975 the Chinatown Gateway cemented the area as a stronghold of immigration for Far East transplants. Shops and restaurants immersed in Far East flavor adorn Wentworth Ave while the Chinese New Year's Parade and the annual Chinatown Summer Fair provide for ample outdoor activities.
