The picturesque, picket-fence image of
Clearing East does’t exactly mesh with the “big city” feel of living in Chicago. Clearing has become a neighborhood in and of itself. It’s very community-centered neighborhood, starting with the friendliness and approachability of the residents. There’s also a library, parks, and a number of schools in the area, so it’s perfect for kids! There’s a big emphasis here on “safety,” and the residents created the Clearing Night Force to combat crime. It’s mostly residential nowadays, but East Clearing’s “busy corridor” lies on 63rd Street.
Clearing East is conveniently located between 59th and 65th streets and Harlem and Central, next to
Midway Airport.
