The Fulton River District Neighborhood, also known as Fulton Market District, is located immediately North-West of The Loop; and is a relatively new enclave of Chicago, only being heavily developed in the past decade. Formerly an industrial area, developers took advantage of the neighborhood's proximity to downtown and convenient transportation access and a boom of new construction Town Homes and apartments, as well as loft conversions, took place.
