Conveniently located on the West side of Chicago, the Garfield Park Neighborhood has seen vibrant revitalization in recent years. Bordered on the North by Carroll Ave (338N), the South by Arthington St (900S), the East by the train tracks along the 2600W coordinate near Rockwell St, and the West by Hamlin Blvd (3800W), Garfield Park residents have the Eisenhower Expwy, Blue and Green Line "El" service, and numerous other bus routes at their disposal for quick commuting.

A line of gentrification heading West from downtown is currently invading Garfield Park and is being referred to as the next "up and coming" neighborhood. This neighborhood's central location and closeness to downtown truly adds to its appeal with prominent displays of a mixture of vintage housing stock, rehabs, and high-end luxury condos. With a clear goal of recapturing past prestige, Garfield Park is also involved in Chicago's annual Creative Chicago Space and Housing Expo as a Neighborhood Seeking "Creatives" (individuals and organizations in visual art, music, dance, theater, film, fashion, and media). This involvement is only helping to accelerate Garfield Parks' gentrification.

The crown jewel of the neighborhood is Garfield Park, itself. Central Park, the park's original name, was initially laid out by Frederick Law Olmsted in 1869 and constructed during the late 1860's through the early 1870's. After President James A. Garfield was assassinated in 1881, the 184 acre park was renamed Garfield Park. Garfield Park Conservatory, a 4.5 acre greenhouse featuring exotic plants, flowers, cacti, and trees, is known as one of the world's largest enclosed gardens and offers free tours. In addition to the conservatory, the park hosts a farmer's market that is open from late June to late October and has numerous other athletic amenities including tennis courts and playing fields.
