LeClaire Courts Neighborhood is on Chicago's South West Side, near Midway Airport. The neighborhood is bordered on the North by the Stevenson Expwy around 4300S, on the East by Cicero Ave (4800W), the South at 47th St (4700S), and the West limit is Laramie Ave (5200N). Comprised of townhouses, this housing project was constructed in 1950 and was extended four years later to nearly double the total number of units. Like most housing projects,
LeClaire Courts fell victim to poverty and disrepair and nearly half of the units are currently occupied as CHA determines the future of this area.
