With art as the focal point of this flourishing Hispanic community, the Pilsen Neighborhood is home to the highest number of outdoor murals in the city. As well as providing its residents with an overwhelming amount of authentic Mexican restaurants, Pilsen boasts its close proximity to both Chicago’s Little Italy and Chinatown as well. There are a number of schools, ethnic shops, the Mexican-American Fine Arts Center Museum and a short walk to the University of Illinois-Chicago which offers the Pilsen Neighborhood residents enough activities to fill an entire summer! There are a few parks located in and around Pilsen which are very attractive to the UIC students and many families that have settled into this southwest neighborhood. There are mostly multi-unit buildings in this area making it a perfect residence for students and young families.
