The Roscoe Village Neighborhood is a charming and vibrant neighborhood nestled between Belmont Ave and Addison Ave, west of the Ravenswood Tracks to Western Ave. The tree-lined main street of Roscoe is dotted with cafes, pubs and specialty shops and lends the feeling of a resort village. It is also home to the highly regarded Bell School District as well as the Antique Row stretch of Belmont.
The side streets of Roscoe Village are a combination of 1920’s architecture—mostly brick two and three flats—and newer construction single family homes and renovations. There is also a good supply of condominium housing stock and mid-range rental properties. It is also common in this area for young couples and long term residents alike to live in an “owner’s unit” of a property while renting the other unit(s) of a two or three-flat for income. It’s a Chicago tradition dating back to Mrs. O’Leary’s cow. Statistics by Zip Code:
