The South Austin Neighborhood is on Chicago's South-West side and is bordered on the North by Division St (1200N) and the West by Austin Blvd (6000W). The East and South boundaries are Cicero Ave (4800W) and the Eisenhower Expwy along the 725S coordinate.

Similar to surrounding areas, South Austin faced much hardship during the depression and the strife of the 1960's and 70's pushed the area into a status of urban blight.
