The Loop Neighborhood, in the heart of Downtown Chicago's Business District, is named after, not the circumnavigation of the CTA's elevated train tracks as most believe, but the name actually comes from the route of a streetcar that served Chicago in 1882. Primarily a business district, Downtown Chicago, and The Loop specifically, is an area that is becoming more friendly to the needs of people's personal lives while maintaining the status quo of being second only to Manhattan as the largest business district in America. A commuter's dream, every CTA train runs through the area, either by way of "El"evated tracks or underground subways; the Metra and the South Shore Lines both run out of Union Station; and upwards of 30 buses and free seasonal trolleys serve the transportation needs of residents in The Loop.
