The West Rogers Park Neighborhood, part of West Ridge Community Area, is located on the northern most edge of Chicago, just West of Rogers Park. Originally part of Rogers Park, West Rogers Park broke away in the late 1800's due to economic hardships and a little known conflict known as The Cabbage War.

Indian Boundary Park & Cultural Center, the jewel of West Rogers Park, is along what was the northern boundary of Potawatomi Native American villages that were forced out of the area in 1816. This park features a duck-filled lagoon, public zoo area, children’s spray pool, sandbox, and four tennis courts. Tudor revival apartment buildings and Park Gables gathered fashionably around the park by the end of the 1920's.

Boasting extreme diversity across an array of demographic groups, many have immigrated to West Rogers Park where its commercial and retail centers cater to the eclectic community. With immigrants and Loyola University students comprising over half of the population of West Rogers Park, this neighborhood has a constant influx of new and innovative concepts. Along with several bus routes through the area, the Rogers Park Metra Station at ensures that West Rogers Park has ample public transportation.
